Development - Usability & Standards Compliance
Usability
Web usability (including it's subset - web accessibility) is all about engineering a website to allow the most effective transference of information. In effect, its making sure there are no barriers for your visitors to find what they want and encouraging them to buy or enquire about your product or service.
In today's environment where just about anyone and their 12-year-old nephew can create a website, Digithink sets itself apart by working with our clients to outline their web objectives and define visitor paths to ensure each page is created with a specific purpose.
Standards Compliance
Standards compliance is the adherence to a set of guidelines written by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that outlines methods of writing clean and error-free code to create web pages.
What does this mean for you? Standards Compliant designed websites are faster loading, work across more browsers and platforms and are easier to update. But best of all is that they perform better in search engine results.
eGovernment
eGovt is the increased standard at which public sector sites must adhere. Over and above normal standards compliance, the Government Web Standards have made it mandatory for government agencies, including local government, to ensure all New Zealanders have equal access to information online, regardless of their physical abilities and the quality of their equipment and software.
Because Digithink is already focused on ensuring all of our new website's adhere to web standards, we have already laid the foundation for eGovt, minimising any additional development that may be required.
